Cindy Tong of Gippsland first joined us for the 2025 Group Ceramics Exhibition ‘GERMINATE’ with the Seeds of Change series which “delves into the transformative journey of germination, growth, and renewal. Each form reflects the release of seeds, highlighting the notion that growth often emerges from imperfection.
Wheel-thrown and thoughtfully altered, the vessels capture the organic asymmetry found in seed capsules. Their surfaces are adorned with Mishima and sgraffito techniques, intricately illustrating the fine details of ‘seeds’. “
Cindy is a early career ceramicist with recognition in the 2025 Siliceous Award for Ceramics Excellence from Queensland Ceramics Association.
