CURVES & LINES

The return of the much-anticipated annual sculpture exhibition is on for October 2025.

We welcome Bruce Webb, now fully retired from his family business and full swing into his art, both painting and sculpting. He continues to explore some familiar themes in welded found metal, of protective sentinels, communications and history, superstitions and safe passage through the winds and seas. Circus performance also gets a look in with ‘High Dive’. As always, his paintings are informed by his sculpture and vice versa and you can appreciate the abstraction of form in the collection of still life works on canvas that are also a fitting part of ‘Curves & Lines’.

Lucy McEachern is excitingly now living in the U.K. to give her sculpting her full attention too, having sold the Hereford stud that previously absorbed much of her time west of Geelong. As a result, we are fortunate to have two new works from Lucy in bronze, with her stunning signature patinas, a pair of Gang Gang Cockatoos, and an impressive Sacred Kingfisher.

Aukje Van Vark brings her affection and knowledge of animals to show in several bronze sculptures with a focus on equine art in varying emotive states. Her well appreciated Leafy Seadragon, reappears in one of three unqiue castings with a more discrete marble base.

George Lianos, a consistent participant since 2020, continues to enjoy evolving his Woman in Stone series but also staying true to his background in graphic design we highlight more abstracted, geometric works including ‘Red Lines II’ in striking colour.

Finally, Kyneton based Larissa Gray returns with her nostalgic, dreamlike other worlds, unique bronze castings that let you escape to your subconscious and grasp the fragility of this earth. ‘Storm Approaching’ is one that has just arrived from it’s worthy inclusion as a finalist in the Lethbridge 2000, Small Scale Art Award in Brisbane.

The exhibition embraces sculpture throughout the second floor with new works in the middle area and some favourites filling the entire space. Enjoy the journey.

Opening on Saturday October 4th, 2-4pm with Bruce Webb and Aukje Van Vark in attendance. The exhibition continues to October 26th.
