DAWN TO DUSK GEORGIE GALL

“My artworks have more always been intrinsically linked to the Bellarine and Surf Coast Peninsulas where I grew up and this exhibition, ‘Dawn to Dusk’ continues this theme.
Most of the paintings have been completed in the past year when the beauty and drama of this Victorian coastline provided some respite to the chaos and confusion of a pandemic.  I drew upon childhood memories and studied photographs highlighting the beauty, colour and latent energy of these powerful and calming landscapes.
Capitalising on harmonious and soft colour palettes, with splashes of vibrancy and texture, I wanted to create a collection that is mindful, placid in tone but uplifting at the same time.’ Georgie Gall
Georgie Gall has been a practising artist for twenty years, since 2003 and have work in public and private collections in Australia, Hong Kong, the USA and UK.
The Australian landscape is an inescapable presence in all Georgie’s work, and is the foundation of each painting. She is drawn to the play of texture, colour and light in her paintings and aims to convey a simple and honest account of various real and imagined destinations.

For this Exhibition,  The Hive Gallery are proud to announce the “Artist of the Month” initiative which is a 12 month program aiming to support the Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation, initially to purchase new equipment for the Ophthalmology Department. Georgie Gall is the lead and first artist involved, and will also be contributing a part of the proceeds to this worthy cause. Her work is already displayed in the Royal Melbourne Hospital ICU Waiting Room to add a sense of peace and calm in a challenging environment.

Any sales will help greatly and if you desire to contribute further please let us know. We thank the RMH Foundation for their support in return with help making this initiative possible.
