Growing up on a farm, Will has always been passionate about wildlife. He worked with animals in National Parks in Northern Australia and East Africa before he began sculpting 19 years ago after travelling home via Europe, inspired by the artwork he was exposed to. Learning from the foundries but largely self taught, he specialises in making bronze birdbaths to suit any setting with designs including frogs, fish and native birds, the creatures that appeal to him.
In more recent years he has explored free standing sculptures, always in bronze. He has a recognisable character, quality and texture to his designs and is internationally recognised with an annual display at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for more than a decade.
The Rearing Stallion is a special piece, a collaboration between Will and UK Sculptor James Doran Webb who created the original sculpture in driftwood before it was cast by Will in Australian foundries into bronze, a two year process. It is available as a limited edition.
