Jake Lunniss

Jake is an ex-Pom designer and maker, crafting contemporary heirloom furniture by hand. After a decade in software Jake discovered a creative voice entirely by accident, after his wife demanded a bookcase. “In retrospect a creative streak had been trying to find its way out for years, but when I found wood-working it finally burst through”.

Growing up in a household “without so much as a screwdriver”, Jake is entirely self-taught. In his small workshop he combines old world craftmanship and traditional techniques, pulling artistic inspiration from decades throughout the twentieth century, to create one-of-a-kind contemporary furniture that will last for generations.

Jake features regularly in the Art Trails, and in our 2025 first group timber exhibition ‘GRAIN’, embracing the warmth of wood in furniture, sculpture and design. We hope this will become an annual event.

Most of Jake’s pieces can be made to order if not in the gallery. Please just ask and allow time as Jake is meticulous in his standards.
