Alexandra Lewisohn

Alexandra Lewisohn has completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Secondary Teaching in Visual Art at Melbourne University since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Ceramics from RMIT University. This has enhanced her enjoyment of art education for the young.

Alexandra works from her studio at Daylesford in regional Victoria in various mediums including watercolours, gouache and oils, depending on the demands of her subject.

Alexandra is concentrating presently on flower paintings inspired by her garden. She delights in the delicate detail which gouache helps to achieve as well as the rich spontaneity of oils.

As well as still life painting Alexandra enjoys figure paintings, landscapes and paintings of inner Melbourne and urban settings as well as ceramics.

She plans to integrate more ceramic works into her practice as well as developing a series of interiors from home and landscapes from around her local area. In future she also hopes to find time to travel to Europe to paint.

Her previous Exhibition in 2020  ‘Gifts from the Table’ is followed up with a strong body of works from the ‘Lamp series’ in 2023 with Jo Reitze in ‘Surrounds.’ – refer to Exhibition tab for all the details.
