Alexandra Lewisohn

Alexandra works from her studio at Daylesford in regional Victoria.

The mediums she uses for her work include watercolours, gouache and oils, depending on the demands of her subject.

Alexandra is concentrating presently on flower paintings inspired by her garden. She delights in the delicate detail which gouache helps to achieve as well as the rich spontaneity of oils.

As well as still life painting she does figure paintings, landscapes and paintings of inner Melbourne and urban settings. She also does ceramics.

Alexandra has completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Secondary Teaching in Visual Art at Melbourne University since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Ceramics from RMIT University. This has enhanced her enjoyment of art education for the young.

She plans to integrate more ceramic works into her practice as well as developing a series of interiors from home and landscapes from around her local area. In future she also hopes to find time to travel to Europe to paint.
