Kylie Sirett

Kylie draws inspiration for her intimate still life works from her immediate surroundings, drawing attention to light and it’s effect on surfaces and textures. Using common household objects, Kylie’s compositions highlight not only their aesthetic beauty through colour, form and light but also their relationship to one another and the space they individually hold. Her aim is to take inspiration in what’s around us in the everyday.

Kylie began her fine art training at TAFE, completing the first year with a focus on drawing and oil painting. A graphic art Apprenticeship then came calling, and Kylie put down her brushes until 2008. Since then, she has built on her solid background in colour, composition and traditional techniques with a flourishing career.

Kylie has received multiple awards, particularly for her pastel works.

A recent career highlight is an ongoing collaboration with Brian Turk of Bison Pottery, incorporating many vessels from the Bison range into stunning still life paintings, exhibited very successfully in the ACT.
