Nathan Wilkinson

Nathan Wilkinson draws inspiration from colour and texture.

“I describe my work as contemplative with undertones of the dark and light elements of life”

“I start painting by working with a few colours I think work well together and more often than not them image becomes either abstract or figurative, sometimes silly and absurd and often by a process of trial and error” .

“I take a lot of inspiration from rust and scratches on metal and steel objects such as rubbish skips and shipping containers, things that are in a state of breaking down or decay. I find beauty in these marks, the flaking pain and the slow hand of time, working away silently.
