Following a suggestion by our artist Georgie Gall, The Hive Gallery joined the The Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation in a fundraising initiative with the Foundation benefitting as our ‘Charity of the Year’ in 2022-2023.
Georgie Gall already had her works in the I.C.U. waiting room at the hospital. Building on the connection Georgie had developed, and with Director and Curator Karen’s 30 year background in health, it seemed like a good fit for the gallery to explore how they could work towards a bigger picture impact.
The key component was an Exhibition of Georgie’s works in April 22 with part proceeds contributing to the purchase of new equipment for the Ophthalmology Department. We are very proud to say that over $7,500 was donated to the Foundation as a result.
