REVEAL is our first group Exhibition of ceramics from local Surf Coast artists Melinda Solly, Pattie Beerens, Karen Steenbergen and Kirsty Manger . Explore the delicacy yet impressive strength of porcelain as Melinda Solly plays with it’s translucency, inspired by the surrounding surf coast cliffs and treasured Moonah Trees.
Karen Steenbergen takes it further with use of a 3D clay printer to create her Ripples & Stones vessels. She also evolves her stoneware vessels from her Milk Shed series that questions the true cost of a latte, developing a stunning new glaze,- a gift, in the Milk Country pieces.
Pattie Beerens continues to develop her themes of living, sensing and relating as part of nature in “My At Home” using local woven cotton textile and unfired clay creating living sculptures, light and floating that will eventually return to the earth.
Kirsty Manger has gathered inspiration as a direct response to the beautiful and mesmerising ancient Buddhist Mantras producing pit fired porcelain and stoneware vessels designed to enlighten. Her friend Emma will provide the accompanying chants live at the Opening and these are also available recorded for an immersive experience for all the senses. Kirsty encapsulates the essence of their peaceful message in these challenging times, a direct response to her isolation.
